Laura Manero

Laura Manero Jiménez was born in Tarragona in 1976. In 1999, she got her degree in Translating and Interpreting at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where, one year later, she also got a postgraduate degree in Literary Translation. Subsequently, in 2012, she also got a Masters Degree in Translations Studies at  Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

In her over ten years of experience, she has translated all kinds of books from English and German into Spanish: fiction and non-fiction, including popular science works, essay, historical novels, classic literature, children’s literature and best-sellers. Nowadays she works both as a free-lancer and as a member of Anuvela translators collective.

Some of the authors she has traslated are Juli Zeh, Stephen King, Ken Follett, Albert Einstein, Robert Fisk, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and R.K. Narayan, among many others.

In 2008 she started teaching English-Spanish translation classes at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, where she worked for four years.
