What is Anuvela®?
Anuvela® is an office and a collective formed by seven book translators who have shared workspace since 2001.
It is an office because every one of us works on their individual translations and publishing projects. Thanks to this common space, we can work outside of our homes and have a forum where we can share opinions and find solutions to translation problems.
And it is a translator collective because, through Anuvela®, we join our forces to carry out translation projects on books that need to be treated with due care and rigor and are on a tight deadline. In those cases, one of the team members works as a coordinator and as a translator. His/her function is to manage the project, act as a liaison between the translators and the publishers, coordinate translation deliveries and participants, organize glossaries, and read, proof-read, and unify the translation as a whole to guarantee that the final text presents the coherence it deserves.
Anuvela® is also a nom de plume, an acronym formed by our names, and we use it to sign our group translations.
